Alan "Chip" Hewett
Alan Bryant (Chip) Hewett was born and raised in Shallotte, North Carolina. In 1986, he received his B.A. in Political Science from Campbell University and in 1990 earned his J.D. from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. Chip has been practicing law in Johnston County since 1991 and has been a certified Superior Court mediator since 1996.
Before practicing law, Chip served in the United States Army and is a graduate of the Army Infantry Officer Basic Course, Airborne School and Air Assault School. He served in the North Carolina Army National Guard as an officer until 1994.
Chip is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association and the Johnston County Bar. He is a civil trial attorney and practices in Superior and District Court and is licensed in Federal Court. He serves as the Attorney for the Town of Selma, Town of Archer Lodge and the Selma Housing Authority.
In Johnston County, Chip serves on the Hospital Board and is a past president of the Education Foundation. His is a member of the Sudan Temple and Selma Masonic Lodge. Chip lives in Princeton with his wife Michelle, a Registered Nurse, and has three children.
